Because of my soap allergies, I started making soap products…looking for an alternative to the market choices. This morphed into a small business producing and selling bath and body products under the name Island Botanicals, island.botanicals@yahoo.com, over twenty years ago. Since I was already making my own laundry detergent, dish soap, etc., we also chose to give up as many chemicals in our home as we could as a part of our organic, sustainable lifestyle. I will go over the raw materials used to create different cleaning products and share the recipes we use to keep our house clean and chemical free.
