I farm for health; my health, your health and the health of the planet so it only makes sense that permaculture is at the center of my approach. I am trying to make a living off the land which creates a need for scale and efficiency too.
I wild harvest six medicinal “weeds” that are abundant in my neighborhood - it's one of my favorite activities and it works on a small commercial scale. I try to maximize yields and quality through inter planting herbs and I’ve come up with some combinations that work and some that don’t. I’ve learned when, where and how NOT graze cattle and plant elderberries! I’ve planted hundreds of trees here on the farm but only dozens have made it into even their adolescent years - What worked, didn’t work, and why? Avoid some of my mistakes. Join us at the convergence and I’ll share what I have learned in 7 years of running a commercial permaculture farm.
There will be many other excellent presentations, talks and demonstrations taking place during the 2022 Wisconsin Permaculture Convergence, Sept. 23-25 near Rio, Wisconsin. If you haven’t yet, there’s still time to register for some or all of the weekend’s activities.
