Get Ready for the 2024 Wisconsin Permaculture Convergence

Survival Guide
For everything you need to know about the weekend, including what to bring, the site map, and additional details, please review our Survival Guide here: 2024 Permaculture Convergence Survival Guide.

Arrival and Schedule
You're invited to arrive after 2 p.m. on Friday, Sept. 23. If you get here early in the afternoon, we have an exciting opportunity to learn more about applying a plaster rough coat in preparation for a walapini starting at 2 p.m.

Registration opens Friday at 3 p.m. Day of registration is available through the weekend but does not grantee meals.

Introduction to Permaculture Class

Friday Pot Luck
The convergence officially kicks off at 5 p.m. with a potluck dinner. There is some refrigerator space for food, but not a lot. If you're bringing a lot of food, please prepare your own coolers and ice.

Saturday Morning
The official welcome begins Saturday morning at 9 a.m. and the first session starts at 9:30. Please review the full weekend schedule here: 2024 Convergence Schedule.

Cellular Service / WiFi
There is poor cellular service (U.S. Cellular works best) and limited access to WiFi. What a wonderful time to digitally disconnect and connect with humans :)

Meals
On Saturday morning, we’ll start the day with a hybrid potluck breakfast. The convergence will provide hearty oatmeal, maple syrup, and honey, and we ask that you bring toppings to share—think nuts, dried or fresh fruits, and other creative additions! Sunday morning breakfast is the same. The convergence will provide morning coffee and Sacred Blossom herbal teas (thank you Tony!)

Saturday lunch and dinner are provided; in the spirit of reducing waste, participants must bring their own plates and utensils. There will be a dishwashing station available.

Ride Sharing

Please do try and carpool. We have setup a carpool webpage site. Click here if you are offering a ride or looking for one.

Accommodations
The site provides rustic toilets and no shower facilities, so come prepared for a weekend close to nature.

A tent camping area is available near the convergence site. Campers and RVs are welcome but there will be no water or electric hookups.

Final Session and Clean-Up
The convergence will conclude following the Sunday morning session, after which we will need everyone’s help to clean up and reset the site. Your assistance in this process is greatly appreciated.

Liability Waiver
If you haven’t already done so, please make sure to sign the required liability waiver before attending: Sign the Liability Waiver.

Electricity
There will be charging stations to charge phones/devices. BRING YOUR OWN CORD

Super Swap
Got something to share? Whether it's an extra hammer, a surplus of zucchini, or books you've enjoyed but no longer need, bring them along to our free swap! It’s a permaculture way to pass on items that could find a new home. Just a friendly reminder: if your item isn’t picked up by the end of the convergence, we kindly ask that you take it back with you. Let’s keep the spirit of the event by ensuring we leave the space as we found it.

Compost Class
If you're planning to attend Saturday's Compost Pot Luck session, bring a small container of yours to show off or get some composting advice.

Thank you for being part of this incredible event. We look forward to learning and growing with you at the 2024 Wisconsin Permaculture Convergence!
