Sessions Up

We are happy to announce that sessions are being added to the website. As the months go by we will be featuring session leaders and their sessions on our news/blog page and emails. Below are the first three highlighted sessions in this series.

Permaculture in the Kitchen

What do you do with all the delicious, nutritious food that you've grown, gathered, and purchased from your local food-shed? Let's talk about Permaculture principles and patterns for cooking, preserving, and enjoying your abundant harvest in every season.

Jessica True

Jessica True is a lifelong learner of permaculture, gardening, herbalism, intuitive awareness, compassionate communication, art, writing, and more. Although she began her permaculture journey with the goal of being self-sufficient, she’s learned that we are most resilient in community with others.

Permaculture: Investing in Right Livelihood and Regeneration

In this session we talk about investing in growing real permaculture right livelihoods that are truly regenerative. “You can read 1000 books on gardening—Permaculture is about where you bank your money and how you spend it.” —Bill Mollison, originator of permaculture.

Mike HOAG

Manager/teacher/gardener/author/designer/consultant. Michael Hoag has spent over 20 years as a full-time worker in the army of Permaculture change-makers. He is founder of the Transformative Adventures Cooperative, former managing director of Lillie House Permaculture, and a full-time Permaculture designer, and consultant who has participated in over 300 regenerative projects. He has worked on farms of all sizes, worked with food justice organizations, colleges and universities, and environmental organizations including the Sierra Club, and PIRGIM.

Grow WITH Plants

Nahannii will present on some basic concepts and ideas around parallels in human and plant development. As well as address some lesser known beneficial effects of interacting with plants. Participants will then engage in an activity that involves movement, self reflection, team work and more! This session is family friendly and engaging for those who want to learn terminology and concepts.

Nahannii Lukes

Nahannii is passionate about both permaculture and nature-based therapy. She strives to teach others about interesting concepts uncovered by researchers surrounding the therapeutic effects of working with plants. Nahannii first studied outdoor education at a community college and is now finishing her bachelor's in human development. She has recently completed a certificate in Horticultural Therapy and is currently working to become a registered horticultural Therapist. Nahannii currently practices therapeutic horticulture through her small permaculture business and will be completing an internship this summer as part of her registration as an HTR.

Nahhanni has been familiar with Permaculture for most of her life (due to her wonderful parents) but didn’t study it until after graduating college and traveling both intentionally and domestically. She found the best company and experiences while working on several Permaculture farms during these travels and it inspired her to seek more education around Permaculture. Her personal relationship with certain plants and practices has been an ever-changing process of growth.
